Clinical Experience

Life in the
Field

As an EMT-B at McCormick Ambulance, I respond to 911 calls and provide emergency care at SoFi Stadium, The Forum, and throughout Los Angeles — alongside paramedics, firefighters, nurses, and physicians.

During two separate cardiac arrest resuscitations I delivered AED defibrillation resulting in Return of Spontaneous Circulation — earning a challenge coin for exceptional performance. These moments transformed my understanding of medicine as a sacred responsibility.

Special Olympics &
Inclusive Care

As a Special Olympics EMT and volunteer, I provide medical coverage for athletic events and work closely with athletes with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Watching the excitement and pride participants bring to competition is one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.

Working with Special Olympics athletes has deepened my commitment to becoming a physician who meets every patient exactly where they are — ensuring each individual feels respected and valued.

These experiences shape not just how I see medicine, but how I see people.

Youth Leadership

Shaping Young
Lives

At Fitness by the Sea in Santa Monica, I spent two summers as a Camp Counselor and Lifeguard — supervising groups of 20–30 children ages 5–12, teaching surf, swim, and ocean safety, starting before sunrise and often finishing after dark.

On several occasions I swam out to assist children caught in rip currents. These moments crystallized something important: caring for people extends far beyond physical safety. Leadership means helping others succeed — not seeking recognition yourself. A lesson I carry into medicine every day.

Session Guitarist &
Performer

My father taught me guitar, and what began as basic chords grew into a deep love of music. Inspired by Hendrix, SRV, David Gilmour, and Slash, I studied guitar formally at SBCC, performed with a band at Berkeley, and contribute as a session guitarist for a professional production library.

Music and medicine share something essential — they both demand complete presence in the moment. When I'm playing on stage or responding to a cardiac arrest, there is no room for distraction. Only focus, and trust in everything you've practiced.

Beyond Medicine

A Life Fully Lived

Balance is not a luxury — it's a discipline. From surfing with my father at El Porto to running the LA Marathon, from jiu jitsu on the mat to shooting hoops with friends, the physician I will become is shaped by the whole of how I live.

The People Behind the Journey

Friends & Family

None of this happens alone. My parents, grandparents, girlfriend, cousin Finn, and closest friends have celebrated every milestone and carried me through every setback. These are the people who make the journey worth it.

"Just do the best you can. No one can do more than that."
